Two mechanisms and three finishes. Belt lines can be re-cut in seconds. Rope lines cannot, which is exactly why they read as deliberate.

Then the finish, decided by the room rather than the event. Black recedes and takes punishment. Silver suits pale stone, glass and daylight. Gold is for an arrival that is being photographed.
