Rent Stanchions for the Auto Show
Exhibiting at the Vancouver International Auto Show at the Convention Centre? A car on a stand has one problem that most exhibits do not: people want to touch it, so the thing stopping them has to do that without looking like it is stopping them.
What Goes Around a Vehicle
Rope stanchions are the usual answer on a car stand. A velvet rope at knee height reads as a boundary from across the hall, photographs as part of the display rather than as site equipment, then comes down in seconds when a journalist needs to sit in the driver’s seat.
Belt stanchions are for the queue rather than the car — a reveal with a crowd in front of it, a competition entry desk, anywhere the shape of a queue has to change with people already in it.
Topper signs earn their place here more than at most events. Spec panels, price notices, a QR code for the brochure and "please do not open the doors" all get read at the rope rather than shouted over it by a member of your stand staff.
Show Logistics Worth Planning For
Build day is the constraint, not show day. Convention centre load-in windows are booked and short; equipment that arrives outside yours waits. Tell us your slot when you enquire and the delivery is planned around it.
Runs of this kind are usually longer than people estimate, because a vehicle needs a boundary on all four sides and the corners each take a post whether the straight sections need one or not. Count corners first.
Finish matters more on a show floor than almost anywhere. Convention lighting is flat and white, which is the one condition under which gold looks thin — silver or black holds up. Match the posts to the vehicle rather than to the carpet.
Terms
Daily and multi-day hire both work for a show run. Delivery, placement and collection at the Convention Centre are available and quoted with the order. Equipment arrives clean and working; anything that fails during the show is replaced.
Send your stand number, your build slot and the vehicles you are protecting. Or ring (604) 259-7799.
