Ropes
Sixteen colours. Most orders come down to three questions: what the room is already doing, what the posts are made of and whether the rope is meant to be noticed at all. A rope is the largest block of saturated colour most events put at eye level, so it either agrees with the room or it argues with it.
Every colour below says where it belongs rather than what it is, because the name is the part you already know. Two rules cut across all of them: match the end fittings to the post finish, since mismatched metalwork is the detail nobody names but everybody notices, then check the colour under the light the room will actually be using — greens and violets in particular are not the same colour at noon as they are at eight. Renting velvet rope in Vancouver, with lengths and quantities, is on velvet ropes.
